Disney’s Searchlight Pictures has released a brand new clip from the upcoming film, “Chevalier”, which has been inspired by the incredible true story of composer Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. The illegitimate son of an African slave and a French plantation owner, Bologne (Kelvin Harrison Jr. in a tour de force performance) rises to improbable heights in French society as a celebrated violinist-composer and fencer, complete with an ill-fated love affair and a falling out with Marie Antoinette (Lucy Boynton) and her court.

The film stars Kelvin Harrison Jr., Samara Weaving, Lucy Boynton, Marton Csokas, Alex Fitzalan, and Minnie Driver.

It has been directed by Stephen Williams and is based on a screenplay by Stefani Robinson. The film has been produced by Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, and Dianne McGunigle.

“Chevalier” is coming out in cinemas on April 21st 2023 and we should expect it to arrive on Disney’s streaming services later in the year.
