Searchlight Pictures and Annapurna are developing a new film based on the best-selling book, “Nightbitch”, which will star Amy Adams.

This film will tell the story of a suburban mom thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler. As she embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a dog.

According to Variety, Scoot McNairy has joined the film and will be playing the role of Amy’s husband. He has previously starred in “C’mon C’mon” and Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood.”

The film is being directed by Marielle Heller, who also adapted the script from Rachel Yoder’s debut. Megan Ellison, Heller, Anne Carey, Adams, Stacy O’Neil, Christina Oh, Adam Paulsen and Sue Naegle are producers. Sammy Scher and Havilah Brewster are executive producers.

Filming is due to start in September 2022 and will be shot in Los Angeles.

“Nightbitch” will stream on Disney’s streaming platforms as a Hulu Original in the U.S and as a Star Original on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ internationally.
