Just prior to the release of the first season of the Disney+ Original series, “Ahsoka”, one of the show’s main stars, Ray Stevenson, sadly passed away.  The actor had previously starred in “Punisher: War Zone” and “Thor”.

“Star Wars: Ahsoka” is set after the fall of the Empire and follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

Ray played the role of Baylan Skoll, a former Jedi who became a lightsaber-wielding mercenary during the years of the Empire.

At the end of the first season of “Ahsoka,” there was a dramatic cliffhanger, with Baylan standing on a cliff near three crumbling statues of the Gods of Mortis, hinting at where the show’s story would continue.

Since the character is still important to the story, it’s been revealed by The Insneider that Rory McCann will be taking over the role of Baylan Skoll for the second season of “Ahsoka”.

Rory has previously starred in “Game Of Thrones”, “Hot Fuzz” and “Gladiator 2”, along with the Paramount+ series, “Knuckles”.

No more details on when the second season of “Ahsoka” have been revealed, such as when filming will begin or when it might be released on Disney+.

Roger’s Take:  It’s never an easy situation for studios or fans when a new actor is brought in to replace someone, especially following a tragic death.  Rory is going to have some very big shoes to fill, especially as Ray was so good in the first season of “Ahsoka”, but with these large expansive franchises like Star Wars and Marvel, the characters are much bigger than a single actor, and audiences are much more understanding than they are often given credit for.

What do you think of replacing Baylan?  Let me know on social media!
