Disney’s 20th Century Studios is developing a new film called “Amateur”, which follows a CIA cryptographer who, after his wife is tragically killed in a London terrorist attack, demands his bosses go after them. When it becomes clear they won’t act due to conflicting internal priorities, he blackmails the agency into training him and letting him go after them himself.

It will star Oscar winner Rami Malek, who has previously starred in “Bohemian Rhapsody” and the James Bond film, “No Time To Die”.  He will also be starring next in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” and a brand new miniseries about the life and career of Buster Keaton.

“Amateur” is going to be directed by James Hawes, who has found huge success with the Apple series, “Slow Horses”, “Doctor Who” and Netflix’s “Black Mirror”.    And it will be written by Gary Spinelli, with Hutch Parker and Dan Wilson producing, with Malek also executive producing the project.

No details have been revealed on when the film will go into production or when it will be released.
