Nielsen has announced its top 10 streaming charts for the United States from August 12th, 2024, to August 18th 2024. There are four different charts: Top 10 Originals, Acquired Shows, Movies, and a combined total chart.

20th Television’s “Prison Break” shot to the top of the Nielsen streaming chart following its release on Netflix, plus it is also available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.  This highlights how the sheer number of Netflix subscribers can boost a show or film, even if its old, as audiences look for something to binge.

The latest season of “Futurama” on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ continues to be one of the most popular original series for Disney.  “Moana” also continues to attract audiences week after week, which is likely to be a major advantage for the theatrical release of “Moana 2” later this year.

Disney continues to dominate the acquired chart, with more than half of the shows such as “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Prison Break”, “Family Guy”, “Bob’s Burgers”, and “Criminal Minds” on the chart available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+. This also impacts the overall chart, as half of the shows are available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.   “Bluey” also continues to be a massive hit for Disney+, and Hulu continues to do well in the overall and acquired charts.
