Pixar’s “Win Or Lose” Disney+ Release Delayed Again
Disney has announced that it has delayed the release of the upcoming Disney+ Original, “Win Or Lose” once again.
“Win or Lose” reveals what it actually feels like to be in the shoes of eight different characters in the week leading up to the big game—the insecure kids, their helicopter parents, even a lovesick umpire—with incredibly funny, very emotional and uniquely animated perspectives.
The show features the voice of Will Forte as the coach, “Win or Lose” is directed, written and executive produced by Carrie Hobson and Michael Yates, and produced by David Lally.
This is the first full length series from Pixar, with each episode being 22 minutes each, rather than the usual short episodes that we’ve seen with other shows like “Cars On The Road” and “Dug Days”.
Originally, “Win Or Lose” was announced to be arriving on Disney+ in 2023, but it was pushed back into 2024 and back at the D23 Ultimate Fan Event, Disney released a teaser trailer for the show and revealed it would be coming to Disney+ on December 6th 2024.
However, now, “Win Or Lose” will be released onto Disney+ on February 19th 2025. The good news is however is that the Pixar short series, “Dream Productions”, which is based on characters introduced in the first “Inside Out” film, has had its release date pulled forward and will drop onto Disney+ on December 11th 2024.
Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter addressed the change of address in a press release:
“These two series really show Pixar creativity at its finest. We’re excited fans won’t have to wait long for more great content from the world of ‘Inside Out.’ ‘Dream Productions’ offers up a treasure trove of jokes and fun as it digs deeper into one of our favorite parts of the first film, the making of Riley’s dreams. And we consider ‘Win or Lose’ a major, first-of-its-kind tentpole series, one that really showcases what I think makes our studio great: bold, imaginative storytelling; laugh-out-loud humor; and characters that we can all relate to.”
Roger’s Take: It’s a shame that “Win Or Lose” has been delayed, even if its only for a couple of months, but hopefully, there is a good reason for it, such as tweaking elements of it to make it better.
