While Marvel has announced most of the movies and Disney+ shows coming in the fourth phase, there was no mention of Ant-Man and the Wasp.  But it looks like a third movie is now in the mix as The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the Peyton Reed has signed on to direct the third movie.

Peyton Reed has directed both “Ant-Man” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp”, which stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, who is also expected to return.

The project is still in early development and while there isn’t a timetable for when production starts or when it would be released.  It looks like filming is due to begin at the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021, so would be hitting theaters in 2022.  So it would be another 6 to 9 months after that before it would be available on Disney+.

The original movie “Ant-Man” will be available on Disney+ when it launches on November 12th, with “Ant-Man and the Wasp” currently available on Disney+ in the Netherlands, but it won’t leave Netflix in the US until next year.

Are you excited to see “Ant-Man” back on the screen?
