“Perfect Crown” Becomes Most Watched Korean Series On Disney+ Ever

Earlier this month, Disney released the first episode of a brand new drama from Korea called “Perfect Crown” on Disney+ around the world.

The show is set in 21st-century Korea, a constitutional monarchy where tradition and modernity intertwine in style, and glamour masks a rigid social hierarchy. Seong Huiju, a brilliant chaebol heiress and CEO, seems to have everything. Yet as a commoner by birth, she is always denied the respect she deserves. When her family begins relentlessly pushing her toward future marriage prospects, Huiju grows determined to take control of her own future after she crosses paths with Grand Prince Ian at the Imperial Birthday Banquet. She has everything but status, whereas he has nothing but status. Together, they enter a contract marriage of the century. But can they break societal barriers and carve out their own destinies?

“Perfect Crown” stars IU, Byeon Wooseok, Noh Sanghyun, Gong Seungyeon, Yu Subin and Lee Yeon.

Disney has announced that “Perfect Crown” has already been a huge success for Disney+, as it has been revealed that the show has become the platform’s biggest-ever viewed Korean series within the first five days of launching.

Unfortunately, while we know that the show is the biggest Korean series to arrive on Disney+ globally, no exact viewership numbers have been revealed, so it’s unclear exactly how well the show has done.

New episodes of “Perfect Crown” are being released every Friday and Saturday on Disney+ until May 16th 2026.
