Disney has shared a photo from the set, confirming that filming on the second season of “Percy Jackson And The Olympians” has wrapped in Vancouver, Canada.

Season two of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is based on the second instalment of Disney Hyperion’s best-selling book series titled “The Sea of Monsters” by award-winning author Rick Riordan. In the new season, Percy Jackson returns to Camp Half-Blood one year later to find his world turned upside down. His friendship with Annabeth is changing, he learns he has a cyclops for a brother, Grover has gone missing, and camp is under siege from the forces of Kronos. Percy’s journey to set things right will take him off the map and into the deadly Sea of Monsters, where a secret fate awaits the son of Poseidon.

The series stars Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase) and Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood).  It also stars Daniel Diemer, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn and Tamara Smart.  There are plenty of other well-known actors starring in the new season, including Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal and Margaret Cho.

Created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, season two of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is executive produced by Steinberg and Dan Shotz alongside Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Craig Silverstein, The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, The Gotham Group’s Jeremy Bell and D.J. Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Albert Kim, Jason Ensler and Sarah Watson.

Rick Riordan also took to social media to confirm filming has wrapped.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Percy Jackson TV for wrapping principal photography! Many more months of post-production still to go, but this season is going to be awesome!

The first season of “Percy Jackson And The Olympians” is available to stream now on Disney+, and the second season is due to arrive on Disney+ later this year.

Roger’s Take: As Rick said, while filming in the second season has now wrapped up, there will still be a lot of work to do in the new season, especially as it’s a show heavily reliant on special effects.   Hopefully, filming on the third season will kick off pretty soon while the kids are still young enough to play the characters, though they are no doubt due a break from filming to have some time off to be able to focus on some school work and have a bit of normal teenage-life time.
