Disney has announced that the recent Searchlight Pictures film, “Nightbitch” will be heading to Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States on Friday 27th December 2024.

The movie tells the story of a woman who pauses her career to be a stay-at-home mom, but soon, her new domesticity takes a surreal turn.

It stars Amy Adams, along with Scoot McNairy, Arleigh Snowden, Emmett Snowden, Zoë Chao, Mary Holland, Archana Rajan, and Jessica Harper. The movie has been directed and written by Marielle Heller.

The film will also be coming to Disney+ in many countries including Australia and Canada on January 24th 2025.

Roger’s Take: While this is an excellent addition to the holiday lineup for both Hulu and Disney+, it’s surprising to see this movie has been rushed to the streaming services just weeks after being released in cinemas. Usually, Disney tends to hold onto movies in theatres for at least a couple of months, whereas “Nightbitch” was only released in cinemas two weeks ago.

Originally, the movie was slated as being a Hulu Original, but it was given a theatrical release. However, currently, the film is listed as making less than $200,000 at the box office, so Disney might feel they’ll get more value out of it over the holiday break on a streaming platform with so many bigger movies like “Mufasa”, “Sonic”, “Wicked” and “Moana 2” competing for the box office.
