Disney has released a new clip and poster for the upcoming Searchlight Pictures film, “Next Goal Wins”, which is coming out in cinemas on November 17th 2023, and we should expect to see the film arrive on Disney’s streaming services in early 2024.

Directed by Academy Award Winner Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit, Thor: Ragnarok) and based on a true story, “Next Goal Wins” follows the American Samoa soccer team, infamous for their brutal 31-0 FIFA loss in 2001. With the World Cup Qualifiers approaching, the team hires down-on-his-luck, maverick coach Thomas Rongen (Michael Fassbender) hoping he will turn the world’s worst soccer team around in this heartfelt underdog comedy.

The film has been written by Taika Waititi & Iain Morris.  And has been produced by Jonathan Cavendish, Garrett Basch, Taika Waititi, Mike Brett, and  Steve Jamison.

In addition to Michael Fassbender, the film also stars Oscar Kightley, Kaimana, David Fane, Rachel House, Beulah Koale, Uli Latukefu, Semu Filipo, Lehi Falepapalangi, with Will Arnett and Elisabeth Moss.
