Disney has announced that twelve new episodes of the first season of the animated series, “Kiya & the Kimoja Heroes”, will be coming to Disney+ in the United States on Wednesday, 3rd January 2024.

“Kiya & the Kimoja Heroes” follows the high-action adventures of dance and martial arts-loving Kiya, and her best friends, Motsie and Jay. Together, with their crystal-charged powers, they are superheroes in the southern African-inspired Kimoja City, shining bright to make things right until joy and harmony are restored in their community.

The series is based on an original concept by Robert Vargas, adapted from characters created by South Africans Marc Dey and Kelly Dillon.  The series is created by eOne and distributed by Disney.

The new episodes include:

• Stealing the Spotlight/Duel of the Inventors – Because MC Harmony is giving the star role of the show to whoever is the most helpful in town, Jay and Primadonna do a number of deeds. Haddy and Motsie go head-to-head in a gadget battle.
• Primadonna’s Bodyguards/The Squish Bouncer Bandit – Kiya, Jay and Motsie are tricked by Primadonna into being her bodyguards. Motsie will have to let go of her obsession and share her toy in order to save the day.
• Double Trouble!/Size Me Up – The Acrobrats pull a series of mischievous pranks. Motsie becomes a massive giant.
• It Takes a Kimoja Village/Motsie’s Space Race – Jay takes over a community scavenger hunt. When Motsie learns that Haddy invented a spray that gives her supersonic speed, Motsie feels she must keep up with her nemesis.
• Who’s Got Talent/Snow in Kimoja – The three heroes start doubting their abilities, even though Gogo Flo guides them to believe in themselves. Kiya worries about getting her moms hot cocoa recipe perfect.

The first fourteen episodes of “Kiya & the Kimoja Heroes” are available to stream on Disney+ already, and these new episodes have already been released on the Disney Junior channel.
