Today, Disney has announced that the 21st season of the hit drama series, “NCIS”, will be released exclusively on Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland, with the first episode being available from today, with a new episode being released each Wednesday.

NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) is more than just an action drama. With liberal doses of humor, it’s a show that focuses on the sometimes complex and always amusing dynamics of a team forced to work together in high-stress situations. From murder and espionage to terrorism and stolen submarines, these special agents investigate all crimes with Navy or Marine Corps ties.

The new season kicks off with a special cross-over with “NCIS: Hawaii”, which is also returning for a third season and is also available weekly on Disney+ alongside the original show.

In the opening episode, following the cliffhanger season 19 finale, with Special Agent Alden Parker (Gary Cole) still on the run with his ex-wife Vivian (Terri Polo), the team investigates who from his past might have a personal vendetta against him in hopes of clearing Parker’s name. Enlisting the help of NCIS: Hawai’i’s Special Agent Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) and computer specialist Ernie Malick (Jason Antoon), who is in town meeting with director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) in preparation for a global military exercise, the group tracks down their prime suspect, The Raven.

While the series is created CBS/Paramount, due to a licensing deal made for the FOX linear channel, Disney has the rights to distribute the series.

As with many other long-running shows, due to the Hollywood actors and writers’ strikes of last summer, the latest season will be much shorter than usual, with just ten episodes, since filming was delayed and to keep the show on schedule to begin work on season 22, later this year.

The previous twenty seasons of “NCIS” are also available to stream now on Disney+.
