Molly Ringwald To Guest Star In “Single Drunk Female” Season 2
A second season of “Single Drunk Female” is due to arrive on our screens in early 2023, which follows 20-something alcoholic Samantha Fink, who after a public flame-out at a New York media company, is forced to seize the only chance she has to sober up and avoid jail time: moving back home with her overbearing mother, Carol. Back in Greater Boston, Samantha sets out on a path to move past her worst self and figure out her best self. Kinda.
“Single Drunk Female” stars Sofia Black-D’Elia, Ally Sheedy, Rebecca Henderson, Sasha Compère, Lily Mae Harrington and Garrick Bernard. The series comes from 20th Television and is created by Simone Finch (“The Connors”), who executive produces along with Jenni Konner (“Girls,” “Camping”), Daisy Gardner (“Silicon Valley,” “The Goldbergs”), Phil Traill (“Good Girls”), Nora Silver and Leslye Headland (“Russian Doll”).
EW has revealed that Molly Ringwald is going to be making a guest appearance in the second season. She is going to be playing the role of Alice, Carol’s wry, witty, “perfect” sister-in-law and Sam’s favorite aunt. Alice always does things slightly better than Carol, just enough to get under her skin, and Sam idolizes her. Molly Ringwald has previously starred in the classic 1985 film, “The Breakfast Club”, with Ally Sheedy.
Ally Sheedy shared some thoughts on the guest appearance:
“Molly is such a meaningful friend to me and we’ve only grown closer over the years. I delight in her company so working on our episode together was a joy. And I think she’s brilliant… so there’s that! Very grateful for her work on our show.”
Molly Ringwald explained:
“Acting with Ally Sheedy is like being with a member of my family. We have so much history we barely need to even speak. The challenge is trying not to cry! Getting to be on set with her again was one of the best parts of my year.”
The first season of “Single Drunk Female” is available to stream now on Hulu in the United States and as a Star Original on Disney+ around the world.
