“Mask Vs Knight” Coming Soon To Disney+ (UK/Ireland)
Disney has announced that the Latin American series, “Mask Vs Knight”, is going to be released on Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland on the 19th of April 2023, which is the same day as when the show will be released on Star+ in Latin America and on Disney+ in other countries including Australia and Canada.
“Mask Vs Knight” is about a famous singer, who is given an opportunity to live in anonymity when he stands in for a masked lucha libre wrestler. But hot on his trail is a tabloid journalist who is out to destroy his career… and steal his heart.
The new series has been made by BTF Media, the new production features a renowned cast led by Luis Ernesto Franco (Alex Gorostiza), Paola Fernández (Brenda Paravia), Pamela Almanza (Carol Schneider), Nicolasa Ortíz Monasterio (Rosa La Espinosa), Enoc Leaño (Willy) and Úrsula Pruneda (Queta González).
“Mask Vs Knight” was filmed in different locations in Mexico, the new series immerses the audience in the world of wrestling, combining elements of romance and hilarious tangle situations. With a vintage aesthetic and kitsch elements typical of comics, the production appeals to a multi-generational audience with a love for Mexican popular culture.
The cast of the series is completed by Mauricio Garza (Jaime), Fernando Memije (Isaías Robles), Alfonso Borbolla (La Helenoida), Carmen Muga (Lolititita), Mauricio Barrientos (Vicente), Moisés Arizmendi (Darío), Eduardo Arroyuelo (Ábrego), and Marco Treviño (TV Executive).
Composed of eight 30-minute episodes, “Máscara contra caballero” is directed by Alfonso Pineda and is based on an idea by Héctor Valdés, who also worked on the script with Mauricio Somuano and Alejandra Urdiaín.
