Recently, it was revealed that 20th Century Studios was developing a remake of “The Hand That Rocks The Cradle”, which will star Maika Monroe.

In the original thriller film from 1992, Annabella Sciorra starred as Claire Bartel, a busy wife, mother and career woman whose family is placed in grave jeopardy when she hires Peyton Flanders (Rebecca De Mornay), a seemingly perfect nanny with a chilling secret agenda. By the time Claire discovers Peyton’s deadly plan for revenge, it may already be too late to save herself and her family. From the absorbing opening to the unforgettable climax, this critically acclaimed winner delivers a sensational mix of thrills, chills, and surprises!

According to Deadline, Mary Elizabeth Winstead is currently in negotiations to star in the film, to play the role of Claire.

Mary has previously starred in the Disney+ Original series, “Star Wars: Ahsoka” and Paramount+ Original, “A Gentleman in Moscow”.

The new film is going to be directed by Michelle Garza Cervera and is being written by Micah Bloomberg.  It will be produced by Ted Field and his Rader Pictures production, along with Michael Schaefer and Mike Larocca.  Michael Napoliello and Maria Frisk are overseeing for Radar Pictures.

No official release details for the remake of “The Hand That Rocks The Cradle” have been revealed, such as if it will be released in cinemas first or directly onto Hulu and Disney+.
