Marvel’s “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” Disney+ Release Date Revealed
Marvel has developed multiple animated series for Disney+, including “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”, which follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming Spider-Man in the MCU, starting with his freshman year of high school of course. Peter’s journey in the series will be unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots.
Other characters appearing in the upcoming series include Nico Minoru, Lonnie Lincoln, Amadeus Cho, Harry Osborn, Pearl Pangan, and Jean Foucault. Hudson Thames will be playing the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and Colman Domingo will be playing the role of Norman Osborn.
The show will also feature many other classic villains including Unicorn, Chameleon, Scorpion, Speed Demon, Tarantula, the Rhino, Butane, Carmela Black, and Otto Octavius. It will also see Charlie Cox reprise his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio as the Kingpin.
“Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man” has been written and executive produced by Jeff Trammell.
The series was initially announced on Disney+ Day in November 2021, and it was initially called “Spider-Man: Freshman Year!” It was also renewed for a second season, which was named “Spider-Man: Sophomore Year” at 2022’s San Diego Comic-Con.
A new trailer highlighting everything coming from Marvel in the next year, it was confirmed that “Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man” will be coming to Disney+ on January 29th 2025 and given us a sneak peek at the series.
Roger’s Take: With a history of fantastic “Spider-Man” series in the past, I’m looking forward to this fun series, which has a unique art style and the shift to allow Marvel Animation to explore the multiverse, without impacting on the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.
