With filming starting to resume on many of the Disney+ shows and movies, Marvel’s Loki, is also now back in production in Atlanta, Georgia.

In an interview with Forbes to promote the movie Misbehaviour, actor Gugu Mbatha-Raw says:

“I was in the middle of filming when the pandemic happened, so I had a real break, I’ve been painting and reading. Like so many others, I was at home for a long time. Not to make light of the suffering going on, but in some ways, it has been an opportunity for me to get a fresh perspective on things. It is downtime that perhaps I might not have had, and now I’m thankful to be back to work. It’s been a journey for everyone, but it’s all for a greater reason and the greater good.”

She added:

I’m obviously sworn to secrecy about everything to do with Loki, but it feels great to be back. Everyone is trying to do it as safely as possible under the circumstances, and it feels good. I’m excited. It’s a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see it.”

While production on the show was shut down due to the Coronavirus, Mbatha-Raw did use her time to catch up on the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+

“I’d already watched a lot of them. I got Disney+ when I got the job, so I binged a lot of it then.”

The new Loki series is due to arrive on Disney+ in Spring 2021, so it’s likely it will still be delayed as it’s had a 6 month filming pause.  Also with “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” also be delayed until 2021 and they wouldn’t want them to be released too close to one another.

Marvel’s Loki will tell the story of what happened after the events of Avengers: Endgame, when Loki escaped with the Tesseract, setting up a brand new timeline for the character, where the events of “Thor Ragnarok” and “Infinity War” hadn’t happened.
