Sony Pictures has released the first trailer and poster for the upcoming R-Rated comic book movie, based on Marvel Comic’s “Kraven The Hunter”, which is based on the classic Spider-Man villain and part of the Sony Spider-Man film universe, along with “Venom” and “Morbius”.

“Kraven the Hunter” is the visceral story about how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be. Set before his notorious vendetta with Spider-Man, Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as the titular character in the R-rated film.

The new film has been directed by J.C. Chandor, with the screen story and screenplay by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk. The film is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and David Householte.

Since Sony Pictures distribute this film, the film will be going to Netflix first for its Pay 1 window of 18 months, following a theatrical release before arriving on Disney’s streaming services in the United States around two years later.   Internationally, it’s likely the film will take a few years to arrive on Disney+.
