Last summer, Marvel Studios released a brand new series of shorts called “I Am Groot”, which was a series of five original shorts featuring several new and unusual characters, stars everyone’s favourite little tree, Baby Groot, voiced by Vin Diesel, who voices Groot in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films.

These shorts are set between the first and second “Guardians Of The Galaxy” films. There’s no guarding the galaxy from this mischievous toddler! So get ready as Baby Groot takes centre stage in his very own collection of shorts, exploring his glory days growing up—and getting into trouble—among the stars.

It was confirmed last year during the San Diego Comic-Con that “I Am Groot” would be returning for a second season of shorts. According to Cosmic Circus, the new shorts will be released on Disney+ this Fall, likely in early September, since “Loki” will be dropping onto the platform in October, and this will also nicely tie in with the upcoming Disney+ release of “Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol 3”.

This new series will also feature a guest star, as Jeffrey Wright will reprise his role as The Watcher, who he played in the first season of “What If?” in one of the upcoming shorts.  Unlike with the first season of “I Am Groot”, James Gunn is no longer involved in the shorts, since he is now the creative head of DC Studios.

Officially, Disney hasn’t announced when “I Am Groot” will be released on Disney+, so plans could change, especially with Disney constantly changing its release schedule due to the writers/actors’ strikes and budget cuts.

In the meantime, you can watch the first five “I Am Groot” shorts on Disney+ now.
