Since the return of Bob Iger as Disney’s CEO, there have been many changes within the company, including a restructuring of the company, with the closure of the Disney Media And Entertainment Division, resulting in more responsibility returning to the individual studios.  The other big change within Disney is that they are drastically looking to cut over $5 billion in costs, which include a drastic slowdown in the releases on Disney+, a pushback to theatrical releases and thousands of staff set to be let go.

Unfortunately, it’s been revealed by THR, that Marvel’s Victoria Alonso left the company last Friday following seventeen years with the company.  No reasons for the departure have been given, and it’s not known where she will be moving to.

Victoria’s most recent title at Marvel Studios was President, Physical and Postproduction, VFX and Animation Production.   She joined the company in 2006 as chief of visual effects and post-production, where she worked on “Iron Man 2”, “Thor”, “Captain America: The First Avenger” and “Avengers”.

Most recently, she has also served as executive producer on “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, “Thor: Love and Thunder”, and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”.  In addition to working on the Disney+ Originals, “Loki”, “Ms Marvel”, “Moon Knight”, “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”, and “Guardians Of The Galaxy: Holiday Special”.

During the last phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there have been many issues that have been connected to the VFX and Animation productions, with many complaints from fans and from those working on the projects.   Most recently, Marvel suffered a poor box office performance of the last film, “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania”, plus there have been lots of delays to upcoming films and shows, but it’s unknown if these troubles have influenced Alonso’s exit from the Marvel team.
