Marvel Brings Forward “Eyes Of Wakanda” Disney+ Release
Later this summer, Marvel Animation is releasing a brand new animated series on Disney+ around the world called “Eyes of Wakanda”, which follows the adventures of brave Wakandan warriors throughout history. In this globe-trotting adventure, the heroes must carry out dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artefacts from the enemies of Wakanda. They are the Hatut Zaraze, and this is their story.
Initially, the animated series was announced to be coming to Disney+ on August 6th 2025, but was later delayed back a few weeks to August 27th 2025. However, today, it was revealed that the four-episode animated series, will once again get a release date change, but this time, it’s been brought forward and will now release on Disney+ around the world on August 1st 2025.
This series features the voices of Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Larry Herron, Adam Gold, Lynn Whitfield, Jacques Colimon, Jona Xiao, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Zeke Alton, Steve Toussaint and Anika Noni Rose, “Eyes of Wakanda” is helmed by director/executive producer Todd Harris, with Ryan Coogler executive producing. The show is also executive produced by Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, and Proximity Media’s Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Kalia King.
Roger’s Take: No official details on why the release date was pulled forward, but there could be multiple reasons for this, such as wanting to take advantage of having more kids home during the summer to watch the show, or to avoid doubling up with “Thunderbolts*” arriving on Disney+ and to take advantage of the San Diego Comic-Con to promote the show. Either that, or they are just dropping it early to get it out of the way, especially as Marvel is drastically reducing its output. It’s certainly strange for a series to arrive almost a month early, with just over a week’s notice.
