Making Of Pixar’s “Self” Featurette Released
This past Friday, Disney released a brand new short called “Self”, which is about a wooden doll who desperately wants to fit in and makes an ill-fated wish upon a star, sparking a journey of self-discovery. Her desire to blend in with her peers leads her down a harmful path, challenging her perspective of both who she is and where she belongs.
“Self” is the latest from Pixar’s acclaimed SparkShorts program, which allows filmmakers six months to assemble a team and create a
short animated film. No major rules apply—filmmakers are driven by their need to tell a story and the nimble approach to do so.
