Last week, Marvel Studios released the season finale of the second season of “Loki” on Disney+ around the world, and today, Disney has announced that the finale pulled in 11.2 million global views on Disney+ in the first three days.

The finale increased the viewing figure from the second season premiere and is the second most viewed season finale on Disney+ this year, which was only behind the season three finale of “The Mandalorian”, released on Disney+ in April.   Disney defines a view is defined as total stream time divided by runtime.

Over the six weeks, “Loki” steadily increased the show’s viewership, with every episode of the show racking up over 11 million views during their premiere weeks.

“Loki” Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.

Marvel Studios’ “Loki” Season 2 stars Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Neil Ellice, with Jonathan Majors, Ke Huy Quan and Owen Wilson.

Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Dan DeLeeuw and Kasra Farahani are the directors for the six-episode series. Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kevin R. Wright, Tom Hiddleston, Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Eric Martin and Michael Waldron are the executive producers, and Trevor Waterson serves as co-executive producer. Eric Martin is the head writer.

“Loki” is one of the most well-known and beloved characters in all the Marvel universe and has starred in major blockbusters like 2012’s “The Avengers” and 2017’s “Thor: Ragnarok”.

Unfortunately, Disney has only recently started releasing data on viewership numbers for its Disney+ originals, likely due to some of this information now being revealed to the actors’ and writers’ unions.  So, we don’t have any data on previous Marvel finales to compare to.
