Lily Gladstone Joins ‘Under The Bridge’ Series
Disney’s ABC Signature Studios is developing a new limited series called “Under The Bridge”, which is based on Rebecca Godfrey’s book.
The series is about the 1997 true story of fourteen-year-old Reena Virk who went to join friends at a party and never returned home. Godfrey takes us into the hidden world of the seven teenage girls and a boy accused of the savage murder, revealing startling truths about the unlikely killer.
“Under The Bridge” will star Riley Keough (The Terminal List) in the main role of the late author Godfrey and she will also be an executive producer. Also starring in the series will be Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife), Vritika Gupta (American Halloween), Javon “Wanna” Walton (Euphoria) and Aiyana Goodfellow (Small Axe), along with Chloe Guidry, Izzy G, and Ezra Faroque Khan.
Deadline is reporting that Lily Gladstone has joined the cast and will be playing Cam Bentland, who is one of the only women of color on the police force in Victoria, BC, Cam is used to disguising herself as ‘one of the boys.’ She is deeply moralistic and a hard worker, and has a strong faith in the justice system she was raised in — even as she has witnessed firsthand how it never serves people like herself. Over the course of the series, Cam is forced to confront her own repression around her queer sexuality and identity, and begins to question the status quo in her line of work — leading her to rise above to do the job the way she believes it should be done. Lily Gladstone has previously starred in “Billions” and “Reservation Dogs”.
Samir Mehta and Liz Tigelaar, will also serve as showrunners and executive producers on the show. Quinn Shephard is adapting the book. Other executive producers are Gina Gammell, Stacey Silverman and Geeta Vasant Patel, who will also direct.
“Under The Bridge” will be released on Hulu in the United States, and it’s likely to be released as a Star Original around the world.
