“Lilo & Stitch 2” Details Revealed At D23
Following the massive success of the live-action adaptation of the classic animated film, “Lilo & Stitch” at the box office last year, Disney didn’t take long to greenlight a sequel.
During Disney’s Entertainment Showcase panel at the D23 Ultimate Fan Event on Friday evening, Disney confirmed some new details on the sequel, “Lilo & Stitch 2”.
Maia Kealoha, who played Lilo in the live-action film version, took to the stage looking for her blue fugitive alien friend, Stitch, who surprised D23 attendees on the big screen with his new pink co-star, Angel.

“Lilo & Stitch 2” is scheduled to begin production in Hawaiʻi later this year, under the direction of Chris Sanders, who co-created, co-wrote, and directed the 2002 animated film.
It was also confirmed that Sanders will return to provide the voice of Stitch in both the animated and live-action films. The producer is Jonathan Eirich, and the executive producers are Ryan Halperin and Tom Peitzman.
“Lilo & Stitch 2” will be coming to cinemas on May 26th, 2028, and it will arrive on Disney+ a few months later. While we wait for the new instalment, you can find both the animated and live-action versions of “Lilo & Stitch”, along with the spinoff projects on Disney+.
