“Les Enfants Sont Rois” Coming Soon To Disney+
At the La Rochelle Fiction Festival in France, Disney announced a brand new original series called “Les enfants sont rois”, which delves into the mysteries of social networks and digital celebrity. Géraldine Nakache plays a solitary brigade leader detached from social conventions, a complex character. Alongside her, Doria Tillier plays with emotion the role of the mother of the missing little girl, a woman obsessed with her appearance and the opinion of social networks. This striking contrast between the two female characters brings a unique depth to the series, subtly exploring the tensions between reality and virtuality. The police brigade is completed by Oussama Kheddam, India Hair and Panayotis Pascot, who enrich this contemporary fresco where family and societal issues are mixed.
When Kimmy Diore (Vittoria Andreoli) is kidnapped in broad daylight, the shockwave goes beyond her family circle because she is not a little girl like the others: Kimmy is an icon, a YouTube star whose videos posted daily are followed by millions of viewers. Sara Roussel (Géraldine Nakache) is in charge of the investigation, and to save her, she will have to dive into this world of which she knows nothing, as fascinating as it is terrifying, where the image of innocent child influencers is offered as fodder to anonymous fans. Sara also enters the intimacy of the Diore family (the parents: Doria Tillier and Sébastien Pouderoux, Member of the Comédie-Française), and she gradually discovers the secrets of this family that resonate with her own past.
This new French production is an adaptation of the hit novel by Delphine de Vigan and will be directed by Sébastien Marnier (Irréprochable, L’origine du mal) and produced by Fanny Riedberger.
The new series will be released on Disney+ in France on October 23rd 2024. As with other French original series, expect it to also be released internationally on Disney+ and on Hulu/Hulu On Disney+ in the United States.
