Disney has been collaborating with LEGO on many shorts, series and features over the years and today, Disney has announced a brand new series of shorts from Pixar called “BrickToons”.

This new short series will consist of five episodes featuring characters from many of Pixar’s most popular films, including “Cars”, “The Incredibles”, “Brave”, “Coco”, and “Finding Nemo”.

Join some of your favorite Pixar characters for adventures set in the world of LEGO! Sing along with Miguel in the Land of the Dead, help Merida and her brothers through a “beary” rocky situation, take an epic field trip with Nemo, Marlin, and Dory, watch the Parr family try to save their neighborhood from Syndrome, and join Mater as he prepares Lightning McQueen for his next big race!

Disney has also revealed the names of four of these shorts:

  • Coco: Family Bands Together
  • The Incredibles: Pizza Night
  • Brave: Patience is a Bear
  • Cars: Trust Yer’ Ol Pal Mater

However, the name for the “Finding Nemo” themed episode hasn’t been announced yet.

Disney revealed the names of the episodes on social media:

Roger’s Take:  I think this series of shorts sounds like a fantastic idea, as it enables Pixar to expand the world of these franchises, with the added fun element of LEGO, which is always fun.   It’s also a series that could continue to be expanded with further stories and no doubt also encourage younger audiences to potentially wanting some of those rather cool LEGO sets.

All five shorts will be released on Disney+ around the world on Wednesday 4th September 2024.   You can also find all five of the original movies available on Disney+ too.
