Lee Sung Jin Joins Marvel’s “Thunderbolts” As A Writer
Marvel Studios is currently developing a brand new film called “Thunderbolts”, which will bring together a ragtag group of villains and anit-heroes that have been introduced in other Marvel films and Disney+ shows.
At last year’s Disney’s D23 event, it was revealed that the “Thunderbolts” team would include David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S.Agent, with Florence Pugh reprising her role as Yelena Belova. Also starring in the film will be Ayo Edebiri and Steven Yeun.
Variety has reported that Lee Sung Jin has joined the project as a writer, having previously worked on the Netflix comedy series, “Beef”, along with FX’s “Dave” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”. Lee will be replacing Eric Pearson, who previously wrote, “Black Widow”.
No plot details have been announced for the film, but as the fifth phase of the MCU slowly builds out through its films and shows, hopefully, it won’t be too long until more details are revealed.
Jake Schreier is going to be directing the film and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige producing.
“Thunderbolts” is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on July 26th, 2024.
