Kathryn Hahn To Star In Disney’s “Tangled” Live-Action Remake

Disney is currently putting together its team for its upcoming live-action remake of its animated classic movie, “Tangled”, which will star Teagan Croft as Rapunzel and Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider.

The film tells the story of what happens when the kingdom’s most wanted — and most charming — bandit, Flynn Rider, hides out in a mysterious tower, he’s taken hostage by Rapunzel, a beautiful and feisty tower-bound teen with 70 feet of magical, golden hair. Flynn’s curious captor, who’s looking for her ticket out of the tower where she’s been locked away for years, strikes a deal with the handsome thief, and the unlikely duo set off on an action-packed escapade, complete with a super-cop horse Maximus, overprotective chameleon Pascal and a gruff gang of pub thugs.

Disney has announced that Kathryn Hahn has joined the cast and will be playing the role of Mother Gothel. A video was released on social media confirming the news with Kathryn wearing a t-shirt with pictures of the animated version of Mother Gothel. Kathryn has previously starred in the Marvel series, “WandaVision” and “Agatha All Along”.

This new live-action film will be directed by Michael Gracey, who previously worked on “The Greatest Showman” and will be written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who previously worked on “Do Revenge” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer”. It will be produced by Kristin Burr for Burr! Productions, with Lucy Kitada executive producing.

No release date for the “Tangled” remake has been revealed yet, but expect to see it released in cinemas first, before heading to Disney+. The original animated film is available to stream on Disney+.

Roger’s Take: I think this is a fantastic casting and have no doubt that Kathryn will be able to pull off this character without a problem and think this movie has all the ingredients to be a billion dollar box office smash hit.
