Disney has announced that this summer an all-star linup of guest hosts are going to be taking over the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” chat show.
The line up will include some major stars including Martin Short, Anthony Anderson, Kathryn Hahn, Kumail Nanjiani, Lamorne Morris, Jeff Goldblum, RuPaul, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
The celebrity take over will begin on Monday 24th June 2024, which will see Martin Short take over.
Martin Shorts’ guests next week will include Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, Melissa McCarthy, Sienna Miller, Jelly Roll, and Beck, with musical performances by Imagine Dragons, Jelly Roll, Beck, and The Warning.
More details on the dates of other celebrity take overs will be announced at a later date.
ABC’s Emmy Award-winning late-night talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live” is currently in its 22nd season and broadcasts from the iconic El Capitan Entertainment Centre on Hollywood Boulevard. Jimmy Kimmel, Erin Irwin, Molly McNearney, Jennifer Sharron and David Craig serve as executive producers; Douglas DeLuca serves as co-executive producer. “Jimmy Kimmel Live” is produced by 12:05 AM Productions, LLC, in association with KIMMELOT and ABC Signature.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live” airs every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. EDT on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+. Previous episodes are also available for a limited time.
Roger’s Take: Looking at the lineup, it very much looks like a promotional piece for other films and shows like “Deadpool & Wolverine”, “Only Murders In The Building” and “Agatha All Along”. Ultimately the celebrity take over gives Jimmy an opportunity to have a summer break with his kids and gives the show a bit of a shakeup. So it’s a win-win.
