Disney has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Korean Disney+ Original series, “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born”.

The show is based on a popular webcomic of the same name and it follows the life of Jeongnyeon, a trainee at a local theatre company called Maeran Gukgeuk-dan, set in the 1950s post-Korean War. It follows her as she fiercely competes against her biggest rival, Youngseo, in order to achieve her dream of becoming one of South Korea’s best female classical opera singers.

“Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born” has been written by Choi Hyo-bi. It stars Kim Tae-ri, Shin Ye-eun, Ra Mi-ran, Jung Eun-chae and Kim Yoon-hye.

The new series will premiere in Korea on the tvN channel on October 12th, 2024, and new episodes will air every Saturday and Sunday at 21:20. The series will also be released on Disney+ on the same day. As with most other Korean originals, expect this series to also be released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States.
