Jayden Rey Not Returning For “The Conners” Season 6
Just ahead of the return of the sixth season of the hit comedy series, “The Conners”, which is a spin-off of the classic sitcom, “Roseanne”, TVLine has revealed that Jayden Rey, who played DJ’s daughter Mary, will not be returning as a series regular.
The series follows “The Conners”, who continue to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford. This iconic family — Dan, Jackie, Darlene and Becky — grapples with parenthood, dating, financial pressures and ageing in working-class America. Through it all — the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns — with love, humour and perseverance, the family prevails.
The reason why Jayden won’t be returning is that at the end of the fourth season, her TV dad, Michael Fishman, was written out of the show and Mary’s TV mother, Geena, was played by Maya Lynne Robinson, only appeared in the first and third season of the show.
In the last season, DJ and Geena were reunited overseas. Mary was only seen in five of the episode of the last season, so has become less of an important character for the show.
Check out the teaser trailer below:
The series stars John Goodman as Dan Conner, Laurie Metcalf as Jackie Harris, Sara Gilbert as Darlene Conner, Lecy Goranson as Becky Conner-Healy, Emma Kenney as Harris Conner-Healy, Ames McNamara as Mark Conner-Healy and Jay R. Ferguson as Ben. “The Conners” is executive produced by Tom Werner, along with Sara Gilbert, Bruce Helford, Dave Caplan, Bruce Rasmussen and Tony Hernandez.
The series is created by Werner Entertainment. Recently it was announced that previous seasons of the series will soon be available to watch on The CW and Netflix.
“The Conners” return with new episodes on Wednesday 7th February 2024 at 8pm on ABC, with new episodes being available the next day on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.
