Disney has announced that the upcoming live-action/anime hybrid Japanese Original series “Dragons of Wonderhatch” will also be released simultaneously on Hulu and Disney+ in the United States on Wednesday, 20th December 2023. Further blending the lines between the two streaming services, as originally the series was only going to be available on Hulu in the United States.

The first two episodes will be on Disney+ around the world, along with Star+ in Latin America, on December 20th, 2023, with a new release coming every Wednesday afterward.

Born in our “real world” with sound-colour synesthesia – a unique ability that allows her to see colours when she hears certain sounds – Nagi has spent her entire life feeling like she doesn’t belong. Dreaming of one day being able to fly, Nagi will soon come face to face with Thaim, another misfit from a different world. Born in Upananta, Thaim has long been treated like an outcast for his inability to hear the voices of the dragons that inhabit his land.

With the floating islands of Upananta slowly beginning to fall from the sky, the two misfits will set off on an epic adventure spanning both live-action and animated worlds in “Dragons of Wonderhatch.”

The series stars Mackenyu, Sena Nakajima, Daiken Okudaira, Rena Tanaka, Masaki Miura, Riko Narumi, Sumire, and Go Morita

“Dragons of Wonderhatch” is directed by live-action director Kentaro Hagiwara and animation director Takashi Otsuka, is produced by Production I.G (“Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045”) and features breathtaking work from character designer and concept artist Posuka Demizu (“The Promised Neverland”).
