This summer, the fourth “Despicable Me” movie hits cinemas around the world and will see Gru, the world’s favorite supervillain-turned-Anti-Villain League-agent, return for an exciting adventure with the Minions.

In this new movie, Gru (Steve Carrell) and Lucy (Kristen Wiig) and their girls —Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier) and Agnes (Madison Polan)—welcome a new member to the Gru family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his dad.

Gru faces a new nemesis in Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell) and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (Sofia Vergara), and the family is forced to go on the run.

The film features fresh new characters voiced by Joey King (Bullet Train), Stephen Colbert and Chloe Fineman (Saturday Night Live). Pierre Coffin returns as the iconic voice of the Minions and Oscar nominee Steve Coogan returns as Silas Ramsbottom.

This new animated film has been directed by a co-creator of the Minions, Chris Renaud and is produced by Illumination’s visionary founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and by Brett Hoffman. The film is co-directed by Patrick Delage (animation director Sing 2 and The Secret Life of Pets 2), and the screenplay is by Mike White, and Ken Daurio.

When Is “Despicable Me 4 ” Released?

“Despicable Me 4 ” is being released exclusively in cinemas in the United States on July 3rd 2024. The film is getting a slow international rollout, with it launching first in Australia and New Zealand on June 20th 2024, before gradically being released in different countries over six weeks. In the UK, “Despicable Me 4″ will be released in cinemas on July 12th 2024.

When Will “Despicable Me 4” Be On Disney+?

Unfortunately, while “Despicable Me” is one of the most popular animated franchises in the world, it’s not actually owned by Disney, instead it’s created by Illumination, which is owned by Universal Studios (aka Comcast). So this means that “Despicable Me 4” will not be coming to Disney+ or Hulu. Instead, once it’s finished its theatrical release and been available on digital platforms to purchase for a few months, it’ll be heading to Peacock in the United States.
