Next year, Disney is releasing the fifth film in the “Indiana Jones” franchise.  The new film will see Harrison Ford return as Indiana Jones, and James Mangold will be directing the film.

But this is apparently not the only project in development, as according to Variety, Lucasfilm is looking to develop a new Indiana Jones series for Disney+.   Lucasfilm has been meeting with a number of writers about the potential project, and since a head writer hasn’t yet been found yet, no plot details have been revealed.

With the project still in early development, it’s unknown if this will be a prequel or a spinoff to the film franchise.

Harrison Ford has already stated that he is done playing Indiana Jones after this next film, and Disney is exploring a number of options to keep the franchise going.  The company has already announced a new video game is in development for Xbox.

This wouldn’t be the first Indiana Jones series, as ABC ran two seasons of “The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles” in the early 1990s.

Would you like to see a new “Indiana Jones” series on Disney+?
