During Disney’s Entertainment Showcase panel at the D23: Ultimate Fan Event, Pixar officially announced that a third instalment in the “Incredibles” franchise is currently in development.

It was also confirmed that Brad Bird, who directed the first two movies, will be returning to make the movie and the film’s logo was also revealed.

Not much else was revealed about the upcoming film, but it continues the trend of Pixar returning to some of its more established franchises to help boost the studio.

The first two “Incredibles” movies are available to stream now on Disney+, which is about a hilarious, action-packed animated adventure about a seemingly ordinary family with an incredible secret. Known to the world as superheroes Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl, Bob Parr and his wife Helen were among the world’s greatest crime fighters, saving lives and battling evil on a daily basis. Fifteen years later, they have been forced to adopt civilian identities and retreat to the suburbs to live “normal” lives with their three kids, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack. Itching to get back into action, Bob gets his chance when a mysterious communication summons him to a remote island for a top-secret assignment. He soon discovers that it will take a super family effort to rescue the world from total destruction.
