This week, Ubisoft released a brand new Star Wars video game called “Outlaws” on Xbox, PS5, and PC. The game is set within the Star Wars universe between the events of “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.”

The game allows players to experience the life of an outlaw, where every decision shapes your path through the cosmos. With your trusty companion Nix, turn the tide in your favour using stealth, cunning, and a well-timed blaster shot.

“Outlaws” features a brand new character called Kay Vess, who is played by Humberly González, who has previously starred in “Tarot” and “Star Trek: Section 31”.  She recently took part in an interview with Variety, where she was asked if she would like to see a TV adaptation for Disney+ series, to which she replied:

“I think it would be incredible to see Kay Vess in live action, because one thing that we don’t see in animation is those micro expressions of a real human being on screen.  And it would be incredible for me to experience what it would be like to be literally in her costume, in her appearance, her likeness, in the landscape, to see her interact with real characters, the creatures. It would be a dream come true. I certainly would not say no to the opportunity. And I think there’s so many opportunities to see Kay Vess and other aspects of established roles in ‘Star Wars,’ because we’re in the original trilogy, and there’s so many opportunities for her to exist or show up and in different places. So it would be amazing, and I think fans would love it.”

Roger’s Take:  Lucasfilm has made references to characters introduced in video games in many of its other forms of media, such as books and comics, but adapting a whole game into a series could be possible, especially following the success of other recent game adaptations like “The Last Of Us” and “Fallout”.  However, the only way that would likely happen is if “Outlaws” is a massive success, and so far, the launch of the game has been hit by bugs, including a patch that wiped out some player’s progression in the game.  There is also a major issue with Disney drastically cutting back on how many Star Wars shows it makes for Disney+, and following the recent reaction to “The Acolyte”, would Lucasfilm try another female-led series on Disney+ so soon?
