Hulu Orders New “Prison Break” Series

Following a successful pilot for a new expansion of the “Prison Break” franchise, it’s been revealed that Hulu has ordered the project to series.

“Prison Break” told the story of Michael Scofield, who goes to prison to try to save the life of his only brother, Lincoln, who is on death row for a crime he didn’t commit.

The original series was released in 2005 and ran for four seasons, before a made-for-TV special film, “The Final Break”, was released to finish the story.

This new follow-on series tells the story of a soldier-turned-corrections officer who takes a job at one of the deadliest prisons in America to prove just how far she’ll go for someone she loves.

According to Deadline, the new series will be set within the same universe as the original, but it will be its own thing and isn’t expected to feature any characters from the original show.

Development on the new “Prison Break” project back in 2023 and will star Emily Browning as Cassidy, Drake Rodger as Tommy, Lukas Gage as Jackson, Clayton Cardenas as Michael “Ghost”, JR Bourne as Junior, Georgie Flores as Andrea, and Myles Bullock as Darius “Red.” It will also star Priscilla Delgado, Ray McKinnon, Margo Martindale, Donal Logue, Lili Taylor and Sylvester Powell.

The show has been created by Elgin James, who serves as showrunner, executive producer, writer and director of the pilot, which was shot in West Virginia in June. Other executive producers include Paul Scheuring, who created the original series. Marty Adelstein, Neal Moritz, and Dawn Olmstead, who also executive-produced the original series.

20th Television is creating the show for Hulu; however, no release date has yet been revealed for when we should expect to see the new “Prison Break” released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world.

The original “Prison Break” series is available to stream on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world.
