Disney has licensed two holiday films from Nicely Entertainment for Hulu, “A Christmas Frequency” and “Reporting for Christmas”, which will be released on November 1st 2023.  The films will also be available to purchase on digital platforms, including Apple, Vudu, Amazon and Google Play.

“A Christmas Frequency” is about a morning radio show host, Brooke Walkins (Denise Richards), who is struggling in both her personal life — secretly separating from her husband (James Hyde) — and at work, with the ratings of her show dropping. When she’s set up on a series of blind dates as a way to save the show, things get interesting with one man (Jonathan Stoddard), who is both a man she’s actually interested in and someone who has also applied to be her date.

The film has been directed by Lindsay Hartley and executive-produced by Vanessa Shapiro.  Also producing the film are Richard Switzer and Dave Hickey.

“Reporting for Christmas” follows Mary (Tamara Feldman), a serious reporter forced to take a break from her political beat to write a puff piece about a small-town toy company. While on assignment, she meets the handsome and charming toy manufacturer Hank (Matt Trudeau).

Nicely Entertainment founder and CEO Vanessa Shapiro said in a statement to Variety:

“Since Nicely Entertainment was formed in 2020, we have become well-established both in the U.S. and overseas for providing high-quality feel-good romantic movies, and we are delighted to have cemented our first exclusive licensing agreement with Hulu.  Denise Richards is well-known to audiences across the U.S. for her role on ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ and ‘Bold and the Beautiful,’ and it has been a pleasure to work with her on ‘A Christmas Frequency,’ a holiday romance about authenticity and misunderstandings.”

Since the announcement only includes the mention of Hulu, it’s unlikely these films will be released on Disney+ internationally.
