Last week, Disney kicked off a new promotional campaign to get fans excited for the second season of “High School Musical: The Musical – The Series”, where a new short video is released on Instagram.

The newest short video sees Ricky and Nini talking on the phone after the events of the finale of the first season.

In the first season of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” it followed East High juniors Ricky and Nini, who just returned from summer camp with a new-found voice, confidence and ambitious boyfriend, E.J. With the help of his best friend, Ricky launches a plan to win back the heart of his ex-girlfriend Nini by auditioning to stage opposite her in the school’s first-ever theatrical production of “High School Musical.” The whole of season 1 is available now on Disney+.

No release date for the second season has yet been announced, but with this new marketing campaign now underway and with the huge success Olivia Rodrigo is currently experiencing with her debut single “Driving License”, which went to the top of the Billboard charts in the US. The song is also currently topping the charts in eight countries including the UK. This huge success will no doubt bring many more people into this new series.
