One of the biggest new shows to be released this year is “High Potential”, which is based on the popular French series “Haut Potentiel Intellectuel (HPI),”

“High Potential” follows a single mom with an exceptional mind, whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with a by-the-book seasoned detective.

Disney has announced that the original series will premiere in the United Kingdom and Ireland on Disney+ as Star Original on January 23rd 2025.  The show will premiere with two episodes, with a new episode being released weekly. 

The series was released earlier this year on ABC in the United States, and that first episode stands as ABC’s most-watched series premiere on streaming based on views* after 35 days on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.

“High Potential” stars Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, Daniel Sunjata as Karadec, Javicia Leslie as Daphne, Deniz Akdeniz as Lev “Oz” Ozdil, Amirah J as Ava, Matthew Lamb as Elliot and Judy Reyes as Selena.

ABC Signature produces “High Potential.” The show has been written by Drew Goddard (“The Good Place,” “The Martian”), who is an executive producer, along with Sarah Esberg of Goddard Textiles and Todd Harthan. Kaitlin Olson serves as producer.

Roger’s Take: I’ve been looking forward to watching this new series. It’s just a shame that the UK release is a few months after the US release, as I had hoped that Disney was going to start releasing more titles globally at the same time, but I suspect the erratic US linear release schedule doesn’t help.
