Last year, Disney announced it was going to release a brand new documentary, “Hideo Kojima: Connecting Worlds”, which is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Hideo Kojima’s video game, “Death Stranding” and it has been announced that it will officially debut on Disney+ on February 23rd 2024.

The behind-the-scenes documentary unveils the visionary mind of Hideo Kojima, weaving the intricate creative threads that birthed a groundbreaking game and reshaped the landscape of interactive storytelling. This visually captivating documentary gives a rare insight into Hideo Kojima’s creative process as he launches his own independent studio and creates the groundbreaking game “Death Stranding”.

The game tells the story of Sam Bridges, a porter for a company known as BRIDGES. The player is tasked with delivering supply cargo to various isolated cities known as KNOTs, as well as isolated researchers and survivalists, while also connecting them to a communications system known as the Chiral Network. The game is available on PlayStation 4 & 5, PC and recently has been released on iPhone and Mac.

This new documentary features contributions from visionary artists such as George Miller, Guillermo del Toro, Nicholas Winding Refn, Grimes, Norman Reedus, Woodkid, Chvrches and many others. This thoughtful film explores the power and potential of video games as an art form through the work of an influential talent revered by millions worldwide.

It is directed by Glen Milner and produced by Ben Hilton for Filmworks, London. It was also recently announced that the game is going to be adapted into a new film by A24.

“Hideo Kojima: Connecting Worlds” had its world premiere at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
