During this weekend’s Star Wars Celebration event in Tokyo, Japan, Lucasfilm held a panel for the Disney+ Original series, “Ahsoka”, which was attended by the show’s creator Dave Filoni, executive producer Jon Favreau and star Rosario Dawson, where they discussed the making of the first season.

During the panel, it was confirmed that filming on the second season of “Ahsoka” is set to begin production next week, with Dave Filoni, giving an update on the second season:

“We’re going to start shooting in four days, so I have all the scripts done. There’s a version of them all done, but I always keep working on them as I go. Again, you have to keep evolving them, keep improving them. The whole thing is you have so much time, and you’ve got to use every second you’ve got to make this thing better. Collaborating with the team and the actors as things evolve and change, you take every moment you’ve got to make it better.”

It was also revealed during the Star Wars Celebration panel that Hayden Christensen will also be returning to our screens as Anakin Skywalker.  He took to the stage to discuss his work within the Star Wars universe and stated:

“There’s not much I can share, but Anakin will be back for season two”

Fans in attendance also got to get a first look at Rory McCann in the role of Baylan Skol, who is taking over the role following the death of Ray Stevenson.  Rory has previously starred in “Game Of Thrones”.

The show’s creator, Dave Filoni, also revealed on the stage to a packed audience that Admiral Ackbar will also be returning to our screens, and Dave has promised that “It’s not a trap”.  It was also confirmed that “He’s going head-to-head with Thrawn.”

No release date has been confirmed for the second season of “Ahsoka”, but with filming set to take place over the next few months and with lots of special effects to be created, it’s likely we won’t see the show arrive on Disney+ until late 2026 or later.
