“Haunted Mansion” Director Gives Update On “Star Wars: Lando” Disney+ Series
One of the many new Disney+ Originals announced at the Investor Day event in 2020, that Lucasfilm was developing a brand new Star Wars series called “Lando”, which would see everyone’s favourite scoundrel Lando Calrissian return to our screens. The new show is going to see Donald Glover return in the title role, which he played in “Solo: A Star Wars Story”. However, Donald Glover’s been very busy working on other projects and has spoken out about only doing projects he wants to do now.
It’s been almost three years since that initial announcement, and during a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, “Haunted Mansion” director Justin Simien was asked if he was still attached to the new “Lando” show.

And people just don’t want to say that?” Because it seems like I develop things with these companies and they just never happen for reasons unknown.
Lucasfilm also announced several other new Star Wars projects at the event, that we’ve not yet seen come to light, including “Rogue Squadron”, “Rangers Of The New Republic” and “A Droid Story”.
Disney CEO Bob Iger has recently spoken out about how they are going to be cutting back on making as many Star Wars projects for Disney+ and so the “Lando” project is likely to be pushed back even further, depending on
