Disney has announced a brand new documentary series called “Harlem Ice”, which will be coming to Disney+ around the world on February 12th 2025.

This new five-part documentary series follows the coaches and girls of Figure Skating in Harlem as they prepare for competitions, performances and a life-changing global experience. Through their eyes, we experience the highs and lows of the FSH Season, and the unique experiences they have as girls of color breaking the ice ceiling and gaining access to a global stage. We follow sisters Tori and Ashley, newbie Adrianna and senior Ariyana, and see how each girl makes her mark and helps to put Harlem Ice on the map.

Roger’s Take:  This new series follows similar documentary-style shows on Disney+, such as “Choir” and “On Pointe”, which applies to the traditional Disney+ audience of kids and families.  For fans of ice skating, I’m sure this is going to be interesting, but I do think this show probably doesn’t have mainstream audience appeal.
