Disney has announced that the first season of the new National Geographic series, “Going Fur Gold“, will be released on Disney+ in the United States on Wednesday 26th April 2023. Disney had previously announced that this series would come to Disney+ in early March, but it was unexpectedly delayed.

The show features devoted owners and their beloved cats, rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs and alpacas strut their stuff in animal competitions across America.  While most see pets as adorable companions, a special few see them as champions. “Going Fur Gold” takes an insider look at America’s “you-gotta-see-’em-to-believe-’em” animal competitions and the humans who devote their lives to their beloved cats, rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs and alpacas. Every episode follows these pet-parents as they prep and pamper their cherished showstoppers in the quest to win Best in Show.

Season one consists of six episodes, and currently, the show hasn’t been renewed for a second season.

“Going Fur Gold ” has recently been released on the National Geographic Wild channel in the US.
