Last year, FX announced that it had renewed the comedy series, “What We Do In The Shadow”, for a fifth and sixth season.  According to Vulture, the sixth season is going to be the last.

“What We Do in the Shadows” is based on the feature film by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi.  The series documents the nightly exploits of vampire roommates Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) as they navigate the modern world of Staten Island with the help of their human familiar, Guillermo (Harvey Guillén), and their vampire bureaucrat acquaintance, The Guide (Kristen Schaal).

Production is set to begin production in January 2024.  No release information on the sixth season has been announced yet.

The show’s executive producers are Paul Simms, Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi, Stefani Robinson, Sam Johnson, Garrett Basch and Eli Bush. “What We Do in the Shadows” is produced by FX Productions.

Very few shows nowadays get to six seasons, and with Disney cutting back how much general entertainment content it creates to save money, it doesn’t seem a huge surprise to see the show coming to an end, though it will no doubt be a blow to fans of the show.

You can watch the previous seasons of “What We Do In The Shadows” on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world.
