FX Executive Gives Update On “American Love Story” Limited Series
Back in 2021, Disney announced that FX was developing two new ‘American Story’ spinoff limited series, “American Love Story” and “American Sports Story”, which would be created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson.
This week, FX released the first two episodes of “American Sports Story” on Hulu and Disney+, but we haven’t heard too much about the other show, “American Love Story”, however in a recent interview with Variety, Brad Simpson provided an update on the new series.
“American Love Story” will tell the story of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, who sadly died in 1999 in a plane crash.
“We’re very much intending to [tell that story]. We have great scripts on that. We’re trying to figure out when it’ll land. It is a story that really resonates right now. It’s amazing. A lot of younger women are looking to her as sort of a representational icon of a certain period of time that’s really fascinating, and hopefully, we’ll be able to bring that to the screen soon.”
As with other FX shows, we should expect to see “American Love Story” released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world.
While we wait for the new “American Story” instalment, you can check out multiple seasons of “American Crime Story” and “American Horror Story” on Hulu and Disney+ now.
Roger’s Take: Ryan Murphy is an extremely busy man, working on multiple projects at once, including “9-1-1”, “American Horror Story”, its spin-off “American Horror Stories”, plus a new series starring Kim Kardashian. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too much longer to see this series hit our screens, but it also highlights how too many projects are announced too early when they aren’t really ready to be revealed.
