FX Developing New Comedy “Wildwood”
Disney’s 20th Television and FX are working on a brand new comedy series, which will be created by BAFTA Award-winning “Derry Girls” creator Lisa McGee, called “Wildwood”.
This new series is going to be set in the summer of 2000 and follows a group of Irish college girls who descend on the neon playground that is Wildwood, New Jersey. They’ve no money, no visas, no plan, no clue.
The comedy is now in development, with McGee working on the show as the creator and executive producer. Lisa has previously created the hit series, “Derry Girls”, along with “Skint” and “Deceived”. This will be the first show she’ll create set outside of the UK and Ireland.
20th Television was able to get the rights to make the show in a competitive situation, according to Deadline.
No other details on the show, such as who might star in it, or when it will be released on Hulu and Disney+. As with any show in development, it might be a while until we see it hit our screens, and it may go through some more creative changes in that time.
